3/7-1/8 - exhibition at The New Gallery, RWA, Bristol

16/10-17/10 - exhibition as part of the West Bristol Arts Trail at 9 Goldney Rd, Clifton, Bristol

  introduction

Angie is an experienced painter and print-maker who works primarily from her studio in Clifton, Bristol. During the last few years she has exhibited widely in galleries and shows in London and Oxford, as well as at The Art Garden, The Ginger Gallery and in the New Gallery at the RWA in Bristol.

Angie also works from life, taking commissions to produce portraits. For more details, or other commissions please see the contact page.

  thoughts on her work

Light-filled colour contrasts characterise the paintings and screenprints of Angie Kenber.  Her work shows a passionate dedication to realising her vision of the world: one that doesn't have clear edges and limits, but resonates with layers of meaning.  She is an intuitive painter with a vibrant understanding of the language of colour and shape.

Recent work has been inspired by a particular sense of place: the human form in imagined settings/space, together with imagery from the landscape overlooking which the artist lives and works.

Receiving her BA(Hons.) in Fine Art in 2000, Angie works from her studio in Bristol, alternating between painting and printing and sometimes combining the two, producing work for both solo and group exhibitions in Bristol, Bath, Oxford, London and South Wales.
